OneWorld Care Foundation ("OWCF," "we," "our," or "us") is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (EIN: 41-4705122) based in Round Rock, Texas. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information in connection with our website owcfsupport.org, our donation pages, and our programs serving children in Burkina Faso and U.S. veterans.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Donation information — when you give through our donation partner (Zeffy), you provide your name, email, billing address, and payment details. Payment details are handled by Zeffy and Stripe; OWCF never stores your full credit card number.
- Contact and correspondence — if you email us at care@owcfsupport.org, we retain your message and email address to respond.
- Volunteer or partnership inquiries — name, organization, email, and any details you choose to share.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-6G0MF8H92W) to understand how visitors use the site. This includes pages viewed, time on site, approximate geographic region, device type, and referring site. Google Analytics uses cookies; IP addresses are anonymized where technically supported.
- Conversion tracking — we record aggregate events such as "donation button clicked" or "contact link clicked" to measure the effectiveness of our outreach, including Google Ad Grants campaigns. These events are not tied to your name or donation amount.
- Cookies — small text files placed by our analytics provider. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to donate or browse.
2. How We Use Information
- To process and acknowledge donations and issue tax-deductible receipts
- To respond to inquiries from donors, volunteers, partners, and press
- To send occasional newsletters or program updates — only if you have explicitly opted in
- To improve the content, usability, and accessibility of our website
- To comply with IRS reporting, tax, and charitable-solicitation requirements
- To prevent fraud and protect our site and supporters
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share limited information only with:
- Donation processors — Zeffy and Stripe, strictly to process your gift
- Service providers — Netlify (hosting), Google (analytics, Workspace for Nonprofits), under their respective terms
- Legal compliance — where required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OWCF or others
4. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you
- Opt out of email communications (unsubscribe link in every newsletter)
- Request that we not use certain analytics cookies — you may use browser-level "Do Not Track" or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- For California residents: rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and limit sharing
- For EU/UK residents: rights under GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, objection, and portability; and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

5. Children's Privacy
Although our mission serves children abroad, this website is intended for adult donors and supporters. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 in the United States or under 16 in the EU. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. Data Security
We use HTTPS/TLS encryption site-wide, limit staff access to personal data on a need-to-know basis, and rely on trusted partners for sensitive processing (donations via Zeffy/Stripe, email via Google Workspace for Nonprofits). No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work to maintain industry-standard protections.
7. Data Retention
Donation records are retained as required by U.S. tax law (typically seven years). Email correspondence is retained for up to three years unless you request earlier deletion. Analytics data is retained for fourteen months in aggregate form.
8. International Transfers
OWCF is based in the United States. If you access our site from outside the U.S., any information you provide will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards where required by law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in law or practice. Updates will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced on our homepage for at least 30 days.
